SELF ENERGY MOZAMBIQUE TO EQUIP 50 SCHOOLS, 50 HEALTHCARE CENTRES AND 2 HOSPITALS WITH RENEWABLE ENERGY
4/26/2010
SELF ENERGY MOZAMBIQUE celebrated a Cooperation Agreement with FUNAE which will enable the local production of renewable energy at 50 schools, 50 healthcare centres and 2 hospitals, located in rural areas where there is still no electricity supply.
In the hospitals, technology for the production of solar thermal energy will also be installed in order to provide hot tap water.
The project also includes the installation of water pumping and treatment systems which resort to solar energy in the hospitals covered by the agreement.
Theses projects were established during the Portuguese Prime Minister’s recent visit to Mozambique. They will assist over 200.000 people, and will create approximately 500 permanent jobs plus another 500 temporary jobs during the installation phase.
